Lilian has been picking flowers at the market for over ten years.

Every morning, she’s one of the first to arrive. She chats with growers about the season’s blooms, feels the texture of each petal, and breathes in the fragrance—before deciding which flowers to bring back to our studio in Nunawading.

We didn’t open the shop because we thought “a flower shop is a good business.” It was because Lilian’s passion for flowers overflowed into every corner of her home; when friends got married, she was the first person they asked for help. Eventually, someone said: “Why don’t you open a shop, so we can all get your carefully selected flowers?”

Nunawading, this quiet corner of the world, has become a place where the scent of flowers is a shared language with our neighbors.

And so, The Flowerland settled on Station Street. Years later, we’ve grown from a small shop to serving over 30 communities in Melbourne’s east.

We’re still the same two people: Lilian creating beauty, and I making sure it’s delivered on time.

We are not a chain. No call center, no outsourced drivers.

Every morning, Lilian finishes bouquets in the studio while I review orders and quietly plan the routes:

· Which bouquets go to the Westfield apartments in Doncaster? (Remember the building access card.)

· Which bouquet is for a patient in Box Hill Hospital? (Step lightly, avoid disturbing the nurses.)

· Which ones go to the quiet streets of Templestowe, placed safely in shaded doorsteps? (The homeowner doesn’t like doorbells.)

Over the years, these details have become second nature. We deliver more than flowers—we deliver peace of mind the moment the bouquet reaches someone’s home.

People often ask: “What’s your flower style?”

We thought about it for a long time. Our answer: “Quiet.”

We don’t overuse color or overcrowd arrangements. Each stem speaks for itself; together, they complement one another—just like the people in this community: understated yet meticulous.
