This Mother’s Day, we’ve seen two kinds of love arrive at our door.
The first comes from children.
Placed days in advance. Carefully timed. Notes that say “For Mum, from across the city” or “She never asks for anything.”
These orders carry a particular weight — the weight of distance, of guilt softened by gesture, of love that doesn’t always know how to speak — so it speaks with flowers instead.
The second kind comes from the mothers themselves.
A regular in Mont Albert who orders every month without fail. A woman in Doncaster East who requested “something pink, for my window.”
They don’t wait for someone to remember them. They already know what they want — and they give it to themselves.
These two kinds of love look different on the outside.
One travels across the city to arrive at a door. The other walks quietly to a phone and places an order before breakfast.
But they come from the same place.
The love that never waits. The love that doesn’t need a reason. The love that says — you matter, and this moment matters, and flowers are how we mark it.
Mother’s Day is on 10th May 2026 Sunday.
Whether you’re ordering for your mother, or you are the mother ordering for yourself — there’s still time. But only until Friday.
